Conducts analysis of various components of the quality control program comprised of data analysis, systems evaluation, and product assessment. Documents quality issues and performance measures for management review.
Responsible for maintenance and auditing of factory HACCP programs. Initiate corrective actions in response to non-conformities utilizing appropriate personnel and/or resources. This individual will work closely with Production, Maintenance, Sanitation, Technical Services and other plant functional groups in training associates, monitoring/developing the quality control program, and ensuring third-party audit compliance. Recommends modifications to existing, or suggests new, standards, methods and procedures.


         Responsible for a staff of 4 (QA Mgr & 3 QA/QC technicians). Reports to the Plant Manager. Non-union facility.

         Maintain factory HACCP program in accordance with Federal and State regulations.

         Develop and perform training as required to factory personnel in quality control policies and procedures.

         Assure effective documentation on hold and rework product. Prepare and interpret reports for use by management on a quarterly basis.

         Complete mock recall exercises and prepares summary documentation.

         Assure that daily Quality checks/inspections, performed on the production lines, are properly documented.

         Develop and maintain procedures as assigned. Perform regular audits of factory GMPs and HACCP systems. Write and update Standard Operating Procedures for applicable items to position.

         All other duties as assigned.



         B.S. in a science related field preferred or equivalent work experience. Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), HAACP & SQF strongly preferred.


         3-5 years progressive experience in a Quality Assurance Environment.

         Food manufacturing experience highly preferred.

         Previous supervisory/people leader responsibilities helpful.


         Good communication skills; shows initiative in accepting responsibility and is able to function with minimal supervision.

         Strong attention to detail, good verbal and written communication skills. Must also have good interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel required.
