JO 15255 Production Supervisor (1st, 2nd, 3rd shifts)

A global food/ingredients manufacturer is seeking a production supervisor due to extensive growth, development, and diversification. This company is known for rapid career growth for high achievers. Position is located in a small town in WI with a desirable cost of living and natural beauty.

Supervises and coordinates activities of production employees engaged in operating a variety of equipment to produce products. Position reports to the Plant Manager.


         Analyzes work order to estimate employee hours and create equipment operating schedules that meet both internal and external needs.

         Computes amounts of stock and supplies required for operations, based on production schedules, and requisitions materials from storage area.

         Interprets specifications, blueprints, and job orders for employees, and assigns duties as necessary.

         Plans flow of materials through department and develops physical layout of equipment according to work orders.

         Interfaces with others in the organization to ensure customer deadlines are met.

         Inspects and measures parts and products to verify conformance to specifications.

         Directs employees in adjusting machines and equipment to address products which fail to meet standards.

         Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.

         Develops, recommends, and implements measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.

         Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.

         Analyzes and resolves work problems, or assists employees in solving work problems.

         Maintains time and production records.

         Develops capital equipment justifications for equipment, tools and process technology to improve quality, cost, and cycle times.

         Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.

Other Responsibilities:

         Manages a total of 15 production employees in the plant.

         Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of these employees.

         Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organizationís policies and applicable laws.

Supervisory Responsibilities include: interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.


         Bachelorís degree from a four-year college or university in a related field preferred
(Strong preference toward Food Science or related degree)

         5+ years experience in a production environment and supervisor experience required; or related equivalent combination of education and experience.
