JO 15452 Sanitation Supervisor

(mainly 1st shift, but responsible for overseeing activities †as required on all shifts)


Appleton / Elkhart Lake WI area† (about 1.5 hrs north of Milwaukee)

Bulk Food Ingredients involving fluid, fermentation, dehydration/evaporation/spray dry processes.

Salary Range:

To $ 62K + 5% bonus, profit share, complete benefits etc. Relocation package provided


Oversee food safety, sanitation, waste water, health and employee safety programs consistent with company policies and regulatory agency requirements.


1.       Maintain and implement sanitation, environmental, health and safety programs to ensure compliance with all applicable EPA, State of Wisconsin, DOT, OSHA, Company and Customer policies and regulations.

2.       Review, create, and modify SSOP, LOTO, and confined space procedures to ensure employee safety and an effective sanitation program.

3.       Review, recommend, and implement departmental policies, procedures, processes, and methods for plant manufacturing to enhance safety, sanitation, health and environmental systems.

4.       Maintain, record, monitor effective usage, and safe storage of cleaning chemicals and PPE.

5.       Accompany and assist regulatory and customer auditors during plant inspections.

6.       Participate in planning meetings, recommending space, personnel, and equipment to maintain compliance or increase effectiveness of the health, safety, sanitation, and environmental programs.

7.       Conduct monthly safety and sanitation audits, report finings, and ensure implementation of, and adherence to any changes.

8.       Ensure adherence to GMP and HACCP procedures and requirements, participate in HACCP planning sessions. Responsible for achieving and maintaining the extract plant green tier certification.

9.       Coordinate and oversee chemical supplier actions.

10.  Gain and maintain thorough knowledge of the brew house, evaporation, dryer, and packaging operations.

Education and/or

Bachelorís degree in a scientific discipline and 3-5 years experience; or four years of high school and seven to ten years of progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent combination of education or experience.

A history of progressive accomplishments and the ability to coach/mentor others.

Experience in food or dairy plant GMPís is required. Experience with environmental health and safety regulations is highly desired

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally required to sit and use hands to handle or manipulate objects, tools, or controls.† Frequent sitting, talking, hearing, and occasionally stand, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, lift (60 lbs.).
