Rapidly growing company is looking to add an experienced R&D Chef to help in the creation of new products for retail & food service to help grow sales of existing products.

This company currently sells frozen foods to mainly retailers such as Warehouse Clubs, Wal-Mart, Aldi/ Trader Joe's. They want to expand into food service and are looking for an R&D chef with experience & contacts with restaurant chains in USA.

Company is multi-national with offices in USA / UK & Europe/ Australia / Asia.

Opportunities for travel and even relocation with this R&D Chef role depending on skill & performance.

Frozen Asian Food and/or Seafood experience is preferred

Must Have:

·         Experience with SEAFOOD as well as other food industry

·         Commercial-scale R&D Chef experience … Must have experience in transferring recipes to mass production

·         Experience selling to major restaurant chains in USA

·         Experience with Customer presentations & demonstrations
Identify food industry trends

·         Ability to do extensive international travel

·         Help maintain existing customers and make sales presentations with existing products.

·         Creation of new frozen seafood, vegetable appetizers, and other food items for retail & food service.

·         Travel across USA to present items to customers including:

o   Costco

o   Sam’s Club

o   Wal-Mart

o   Trader Joe’s

o   Food Service Restaurant Chains

·         Travel back to our factories in Vietnam and Asia to help transfer recipes and improve samples.

·         Create samples in USA to present to customers.

·         Help with sourcing (travel to suppliers to determine quality of raw materials).

·         Help find new customers.

·         Work with CEO and team to identify trends and develop new products and ideas for retail & food service.

·         Attend Trade Shows (Boston Seafood Show – 2015 compulsory). 

Strengths Sought:

·         Culinary Training preferred:

o    Cordon Bleu would be a bonus.

o    Other culinary school training would also be a bonus.

·         At least 4-5 years of experience.

·         Experience in food service selling to large restaurant chains.

·         Experience with doing presentations.

·         Food technology background is a bonus.

·         Must be willing to travel.

·         Skills:

o    Good Oral and written communications skills.

o    Presentation Abilities.

o    Computer skills:

§  Emails.

§  Ability to use Microsoft Word/Excel/PowerPoint a bonus.
