JO 15530 Process Engineer Fluid Systems



Salary Range:



Based on experience.


First shift, hours will vary ad dictated by production, vacation or other scheduling conflicts.


Monday thru Friday. Mandatory overtime and weekend work is required.


Engineer, Design & Detail stainless steel equipment and systems for customers (in Food, Dairy, and Sanitary Industries). Generate creative, innovative solutions (for both new and existing designs). Provide reliable and safe systems.

Meet specifications:

         Comply to applicable codes, accepted engineering practices, and company standards

         Design to USDA, WDA, and 3A sanitary standards

         Analyze & Evaluate systems and designs (i.e., use: advanced calculation, 3D solid modeling, physical testing)

         Cultivate relevant knowledge to serve customers (i.e. application/industry related)

Solve problems:

  • Improve production (i.e. rates, efficiencies, yields, costs, changeovers)
  • Perform mass and heat balance calculations
  • Determine appropriate components (i.e. Size & Specify: pumps, valves, heat exchangers



         BS in Engineering (required)

         5+ years of Experience:

o   Designing to USDA, WDA, and 3A sanitary standards (required)

o   in a Sanitary Industry such as Dairy or Food Processing (required)

         Experience with Autodesk software:  AutoCAD (required) and Inventor (preferred)

         Experience sizing and selecting pumps & valves (preferred)

         Knowledge of ASME B31.3 or B31.1 standards

         Knowledge of pumps, valves, heat exchangers and process equipment (preferred)

         Familiar with steam and condensate equipment systems


Principal Duties:

Develop & Produce professional materials, per customer specifications:

         Complete Proposals that include scope, schedule, and cost estimates (request from other departments and vendors as-needed)

         Liquid Process System Designs using both drawings and written descriptions for systems such as CIP (Clean-in-Place), Hot Water Sets, Membrane Filtration (i.e. RO/UF), and Pasteurization (i.e. HTST)

         Drawings and Process & Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID)

         Instructions & Production Steps detailed as-needed to provide complete solution


Manage Projects, from start to finish:

  • Handle multiple assignments effectively control and organize deadlines
  • Communicate with other departments, initially and on-going
  • Inspect fabrication activities
  • Obtain product information (i.e. data sheets, manuals) for components and equipment used


Relational Responsibilities:

         Interact professionally & effectively with co-workers, vendors and customers

         Disseminate information in a timely, professional manner (internally and externally)

         Provide technical expertise as-needed

         Troubleshoot & Provide on-site support (at customer locations)
