Position
Description:

This position is responsible for managing our tempering rooms, RTE production department, pack-off department, freezing and finished product storage.  The supervisors and team leaders in the departments will report to this individual.  This position will be responsible for employee safety and production results while maintaining the highest food safety and quality practices in the industry.

Responsibilities:

 

         Hire, train, mentor and motivate employees.

         Set quality, food safety& production goals each day.

         Manage the production schedules for the RTE area departments and communicate with Production Scheduling if there are any changes or issues.

         Direct employees to meet production goals in a safe and effective manner.

         Ensure all production lines have met Pre-Op Sanitation Requirements daily.

         Communicate with the sanitation team to ensure startup times are met and corrective actions are taken if necessary.

         Set continuous improvement goals, manage objectives and report to management the results.

         Communicate all maintenance needs for each department to the plant manager.

         Foster communication between maintenance techs and supervisors to manage downtime.

         Develop a relationship with FSQA team to ensure our products meet their stringent standards.

Requirements:

 

         5 year minimum experience in a supervisory capacity.

         Knowledge of food safety programs BRC or SQF.

         Knowledge and understanding of GMPs, SSOPs, Food Safety Rules and Regulations.

         Working knowledge of USDA and FDA regulations pertaining to plant operations and labeling.

         History of professionalism in managing teams

         Excellent communication and organizational skills Ė proven track record of managing multiple projects simultaneously to meet deadlines.

         Must be able to provide clear, concise written reports on progress of projects.

         Able to work some weekends if necessary.

         Must be able to operate Microsoft Office Programs.

Qualifications:

 

         Associates Degree/Bachelorís Degree/Equivalent Related Work Experience.  A Bachelorís Degree in Food/Meat Science is preferred.

         Detail Oriented

         Self-motivated, ambitious, a good teacher and mentor.

Work Environment:

 

         Able to occasionally lift 40 lbs. and be able to work safely in a warehouse or processing plant environment.

         Able to perform and work in a 0 to 40 degrees Fahrenheit temperature controlled manufacturing facility.

         Able to work in a fast-paced, high stress environment.
