Summary:

This Company is a growing, fast paced food processing facility, producing various ham and sausage products and shipping throughout the US and overseas. We are growing and expanding our business and our facility, adding a new 20,000 sq. ft. expansion opening early 2016. We are searching for a motivated person for an Entry Level Supervisor position. A background in the meat and/or food industry would be a plus. This person's primary responsibility is to oversee the smooth and efficient operation of the Production Department. We need to have a top-flight team to help us accomplish our goals as we move into our new building.

This individual will be responsible for employee safety, production results as well as food safety/quality. Training personnel, being able to operate the equipment and troubleshoot problems in order to communicate with maintenance staff. Quality and Food Safety are our primary goals. Monitoring production in any department requires the supervisor to be knowledgeable and learn the requirements of the department. The supervisor will, also work with our Quality Assurance staff to ensure all procedures and policies are being followed.

 

Responsibilities:

         To train, teach, coach and motivate employees.

         To supervise activities of employees, directing their efforts to meet production goals in a safe manner

         To maintain safety, quality, sanitation and productivity standards

         To recommend measures to improve production methods and equipment performance.

         To ensure product meets required specifications.

         To identify specific problems and develop solutions to get them resolved. This includes, but is not limited to, developing action plans for the next step.

         Achieve budgeted goals for efficiency on an on-going basis.

         To Initiate or suggest plans to motivate employees to achieve production goals.

 

Qualifications:

         Minimum one (1) year experience in a Supervisory capacity.

         Ability to communicate effectively both written and verbal

         Capable of working long hours and weekends

         Willing to work in cold and sometimes damp environment

         Detail oriented and good computer skills

         Able to work under stress with minimal supervision.

         Self-motivator who will bring corrective actions.

         Candidate with food processing experience which understands and can learn how to operate and trouble shoot equipment from an operations stand point is a PLUS !!

         Must have good interpersonal skills.

         Analyze working processes for efficiencies

         Work with scheduling to improve production

         Maintain product specifications under the BRC system

         Familiarity with HACCP, SSOPs, GMPS and OSHA is preferred

         Work with BRC & QA Staff to analyze quality and production programs
