JO 15549 Corp. Senior Director of Food Safety & Quality Assurance

This Senior Manager will lead all facets of the Company’s Food Safety and Quality Assurance Operations. The Company is SQF Level 3 in all manufacturing facilities.

The position will report directly to the President of the Company. Key professional relationships will include the Operations Leader, Procurement Leader, Research & Development Leader as well as Senior Sales and Marketing Leaders. The company has five manufacturing locations.

As a member of the Senior Management Team, this individual will serve as a key leader in this value-driven entrepreneurial management team.

Specifically the Senior Director of Food Safety & Quality Assurance will be responsible for planning, coordinating, directing and implementing food safety systems, quality assurance procedures, food defense systems, environmental control program and related functions for all manufacturing locations.

This position is based in the corporate office which includes manufacturing onsite with travel to other manufacturing facilities as necessary (10-15% travel).


Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

·       Lead Quality Assurance Staff of 4-5 direct Quality Managers and 13-15 Quality Technicians.

·       Develop and maintain entire Food Protection Program (SQF, HACCP, Auditing, and Sanitation).

·       Chair Food Protection Committee and drive completion of necessary Risk Analysis and corrective action.

·       Manages customer and consumer issues, providing input for corrective and preventive actions.

·       Define requirement to establish effective processes, procedures and training.

·       Collaborate with Senior Management to ensure necessary human and capital resources.

·       Drive process improvements and develop corrective action plans and monitor results of plans

·       Ensure effective training is provided for QA-related programs to Associates, contractors and suppliers.

·       Refine and maintain company crisis management plan.

·       Coordinate with R&D and other corporate staff to assist the development and implementation of new products, process and product improvements and cost savings initiatives.

·       Provide guidance on future facility layout, food contact surface design and risk management program.

·       Effectively manage the third party food safety audit and laboratory management programs.

·       Represent Company in the public arena as if relates to food safety and quality.

·       Maintain Professional and Technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks and participate in training for Associates.
