Salary Range:

To $125K + bonus potential & other incentives (depending on your experience, could be more for the right individual)

The Marketing Manager plays an essential role in the company’s Business and Marketing strategies and its Business Development efforts. The role is responsible for helping to identify where and how to compete, driving market and consumer understanding, providing customer support, overseeing brand building and promotion, and working with the company’s marketing and PR agencies.

Essential Functions:

1)      Marketing Plan and Business Strategy

·         Develop and implement annual marketing plan for the company.

·         Support development and implementation of Division business plans.

·         Influence present and future strategies and product innovation through collection, analysis and interpretation of market and consumer trends, and other market data and secondary research.

·         Provide market assessments to identify where and how to compete for long-term revenue and profitability (Conduct market and customer segmentation; Size market and customer potentials).

·         Oversee competitive intelligence, report competitive opportunities and suggest response strategy.

·         Manage marketing vendors (e.g. Mintel), and identify marketing needs that support company growth objectives.

·         Plan and administer company and Division marketing budgets.


2)      Brand Building and Promotion

·         Develop marketing and customer engagement programs, and promotional materials.

·         Create and execute promotional calendars.

·         Oversee tradeshow implementation, including theme, booth coordination, product demos and samples, presentations, an on-site support.

·         Assist in brand positioning and brand management (brand architecture, nomenclature, trademarks, messaging, value proposition, etc).

·         Develop capabilities presentations and innovation and trend presentations and demos.

·         Oversee web site creative and content.

3)      Customer Support and Business Development

·         Support Sales team and company on customer activities: customer satisfaction surveys, customer development efforts, customer visits and special events.

·         Manage customer-specific research and synthesize trend and market information into customer insights.

·         Provide trend and flavor insight to technical team for inspiration and guidance on reactive projects and proactive activities, and to drive innovation.

·         Lead internal and customer ideation sessions.

·         Develop, coordinate and present to customers and internal stakeholders.


4)      Corporate Communications and Public Relations

·         Communicate brand positioning and messaging updates to PR agency.

·         Facilitate technical and marketing input for trade publication articles and other industry communication opportunities.

·         Communicate directly with trade journal editors and writers.

·         Support and facilitate “impression” growth plans.

·         Assist HR and other stakeholders in development of corporate communications. 


·         Bachelor degree with concentration in Marketing, Communications or related field; Minimum of 6 years’ relative experience.

·         Experience in Food and Beverage industry; Experience in food ingredients, flavors, seasonings, or Food Service highly desirable.

·         Excellent communication skills across all functional departments and levels.

·         Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.

·         Creative thinker.

·         Ability to travel as required (estimated at 10-15%).
