JO 15564 Regional Sales Manager – Central Midwest USA                 Cooked Proteins & formulated cooked meat solutions 

This company has an exciting opportunity on their                                      Industrial Ingredients Sales team due to overall company growth.

Location:

Home Office based anywhere within the Central Midwest USA.                                               Close to a major airport preferred.  Travel will be 30-60% by car & plane with monthly trips to Corp & R&D

Salary Range:

To $110K base + commission (uncapped) paid out Quarterly + $500/mo car allowance + mileage/tolls etc.   

Summary:

Regional Sales Manager is responsible for sales and gross margin growth for the Food / Food Ingredient markets. This is a new position based on overall company growth.  Incumbent will strategically manage key customers and technically sell benefits of the Company’s products both to current and new accounts. Position has a direct impact as the Company’s primary point of contact regarding sales and liaison with customers in these Food & Ingredient markets. Position reports to the VP of Sales & Marketing for Food / Food Ingredients.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  1. Create, manage, and attain the annual sales and gross margin budget for accounts.
  2. Develop customer base and monitor customer satisfaction through regular visits and other contact media. Provide customers with product technical support and train customers in the safe and efficient use of company products.
  3. Influence competitor’s customers to use company products and document any conversions to the Food & Ingredients business.
  4. Develop, manage, and train distribution network where applicable and recommend changes to distribution network when necessary.
  5. Provide feedback to product manager on product performance and new product opportunities.
  6. Provide feedback to the Food team on the disposition and quality of leads generated from advertisements, product releases, trade shows, and other promotions.
  7. Gather competitive pricing data and provide feedback to product managers and business director.
  8. Prepare and provide call reports and quarterly presentations for current or new business activity, new products, and other relevant marketing or competitive information.
  9. Assist accounting and customer service in collection activities.
  10. Willingness to travel approximately 30% to 60%

 

Qualifications:

Ř  5+ years industrial ingredient sales experience to small, medium & large customers such as Hormel, Heinz etc.

Ř  Knowledge of cooked proteins (chicken, beef pork based) strongly preferred

Language, Mathematical & Reasoning Skills:

1.       Ability to research, understand, and develop both current and prospective customers.

2.       Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, both verbally and in writing with both sales and technical staff.

3.       Strong planning, interpersonal, organizational, and time management skills.

4.       PC literate, proficient, and diligent in the use of commonly used software to support sales/marketing and business activities including MS Office Suite; ability to conduct research via internet.

5.       Excellent written and verbal communication skills appropriate for the needs of the audience and ability to make effective and persuasive presentations on complex topics to customers and staff at all levels.

6.       Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference and to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

7.       Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems and to deal with a variety of abstract and concrete variables.

 

Work Environment:

The incumbent must be able to travel extensively by automobile and commercial airliner to visit customers and potential customers. Long hours may frequently be necessary and incumbent must be able to work well under pressure and often at a sustained, intense pace.
