Salary Range:

To $70-75K, could be more depending on your experience.

Expertise In Cooked Proteins & formulated cooked meat solutions     

 This company has an exciting opportunity on their Research & Development team.        Looking for a Food Technologist at the MN plant to develop new products, improve existing products and evaluate manufacturing processes. You will provide technical assistance to customers and all company departments. You must be self-motivated and work well independently. You must be detail oriented with excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, and have the ability to multi-task. Reports to the Dir of R&D. 



  • Key responsibilities include assisting in formulation development, processing customer sample requests, & maintaining compliance with regulations.
  • Provide technical assistance to customers and all company departments.
  • Ensure customers product samples are produced and shipped correctly and in a timely manner.
  • Update ingredient supplier information, nutritional data and product technical sheets.
  • Develop new products and improve manufacturing processes.
  • Evaluate raw materials and alternatives.
  • Perform research studies on products, procedures and manufacturing processes.
  • Perform necessary evaluations of competitor products and recommend best product match.
  • Work in compliance with USDA regulations.
  • Provide work direction, formulations and process procedures to production staff.
  • Provide recommendations of product matches and applications to sales staff.
  • Understand functional ingredients and usages and amounts
  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Basic Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor degree in Food Science or Chemistry or equivalent experience
  • Meat formulation and production experience
  • 2-3 yrs min experience with cooked proteins
  • Working knowledge of USDA regulations
  • Previous internship in Food Processing
  • Basic understanding of HACCP
