The core responsibility of this position is to maintain sanitation needed to maintain quality cheese production by managing all aspects dealing with the sanitation of the packaging department.

Required Profile:

1.       Background:
Education:  Bachelor’s Degree in Dairy Science/Chemistry or science related field preferred.

Experience:  2 years experience in dairy production and/or food industry.
                     2 years experience in a management/supervisory role.

2.       Knowledge of:  Packaging equipment and processes, quality, food safety, sanitation principles, MSDS, and health and safety.

3.       Experience in:  Process management, collective line management, non-line management, environmental safety management, office systems (Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel & Prism), sanitation principles, MSDS, and health and safety.

4.       Behavior Skills:  The ideal candidate will be proactive and dynamic, down to earth and pragmatic, positive and constructive, hardworking and efficient. He or she will also be able to demonstrate a sense of responsibility and high professional standards.


Job Duties:



•       Organize the packaging department sanitation


•       Manage Staff: integrate, train, appraise, discipline and ensure development

•       Lead a team: delegate, instill a sense of

responsibility, set targets, communicate instructions, control, listen

•      Gauge training needs and participate inproposing training timelines

•      Keep his or her subordinates informed



•      Apply well-defined standards (costs, budgets)

•       Record sanitation data

•      Analyze and evaluate sanitation efficiency data and determine the negative or positive net effect

•      Implement corrective action plans



•          Lead and control various sanitation parameters and implement corrective actions

•          Propose improvement plans



•       Propose technical and organizational improvements to his or her line management

•       Be involved in trials (machines, products, processes etc.)



·        Works with Packaging Manager in scheduling personnel and sanitation schedule in a manner which maximizes the department's production capability while meeting needs forecasted by sales.

•      Organize technical means:  Plan actions for preventative maintenance, cleaning, breakdown, etc.

•      Assists the Packaging Manager with planning

and scheduling manpower, consistent with sanitation schedule requirements

•       Monitors swab results and master sanitation schedules to specification



•         Apply any environmental regulations and ensure they are respected

•         Propose improvements


Safety of Employees:

•      Apply the safety rules and ensure they are implemented and followed

•      Participate in analyzing occupational hazards

•      Prevent potential risks

•      Take necessary measures if people are performing unsafe acts or are in an unsafe environment


•      Apply and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices Standard

•      Take necessary measures when there is deviation from this policy

•      Participate and recommend solutions to common GMP issues


Food Safety:

•      Follow the food safety laws

•      Key contributor of the FSSC 22000 implementation

•      Work closely with Quality Manager to ensure the quality and specifications of product are continually being met

Uphold all rules pertaining to confidentiality of information regarding the Company’s products, recipes and employee information
