Summary:

The Director Sales is responsible for overseeing the sales and marketing of the company’s Bi-Products and brand feed additives portfolio – poultry, beef and swine. As a key member of the Division’s Lead Team, the Director will be responsible for:

·         Adopting and daily exemplifying FUI’s vision, mission, and values.

·         Understanding current feed additives markets and customers and potential markets and customers.

·         Understanding plant products, quality, and production capabilities.

·         Establishing effective relationships with Operations personnel, other business unit Directors, and corporate groups including Finance & Accounting, Marketing & Communications, Human Resources, and Information Technology.

·         Developing and implementing strategies that will ensure sales and customer service are consistently available to meet customer needs and expectations.

·         Achieving targeted level of sales volumes and margins.

·         Leading continuous improvement in Sales & Marketing and participating in various company improvement efforts.

Duties &
Responsibilities:

·         Expanding sales channels for the company’s feed additive portfolio on the existing and to new markets, both domestic and international.

·         Developing and executing sales and marketing programs by customer segments and creating sales action plans.

·         Developing and executing annual sales budgets.

·         Developing and supervising sales force/distributors: selection and training, establishing terms of cooperation and motivational system, performance monitoring.

·         Establishing and maintaining direct relationship with key accounts.

·         Promoting the company’s position and perception on the market.

·         Cooperating with other senior management team in achieving target results.

·         Updating company board on brand sales, opportunities, and challenges.

 

Qualifications:

·         BS degree in animal science, nutrition or veterinary preferred.                                BS degree in Business, Marketing or related field with strong track record of success selling animal feed additives/ingredients/animal health products.

·         5+ years of experience in managing domestic and international sales function: sales planning, developing regional teams, creation of sales and marketing strategy, performance monitoring, analysis and reporting.

·         Proven experience in increasing revenues and profitability through new customer accounts.

·         Knowledge and understanding of animal nutrition/health sector.

·         On-farm experience in animal production is a plus.

·         Experience marketing and selling animal nutrition/health products.

·         Experience working with customers, marketing, finance, R&D, and operations to understand customer needs and opportunities and to introduce new products and services to existing and new customers.

·         Excellent communication and negotiation skills, and focus on long-term relationships.

·         Ability to develop and manage teams.

·         Highly motivated and goal-driven personality.

·         Strong computer skills with Microsoft Office products – Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint.  Microsoft Dynamics experience a plus.

·         Availability for business traveling – maximum of 35%.

·         Leads with a Sense of Urgency, Customer Service, Excellence and Pride, in a Team environment.

Working Conditions:

·         Work usually performed in an office setting or customer setting.  Will require ability to work in plant environments at times.

·         Ability and willingness to work extra hours on a scheduled /unscheduled basis when required.

·         Overnight travel as required

 

Physical Requirements:

        Digital dexterity and hand/eye coordination to use a personal computer, e-mail, copier, fax, phone, and other standard office equipment.

        Ability to speak to and hear customers and/or employees via phone and in person.

        Ability to travel by vehicle or plane as required by role (up to 35% of the time).
