Summary:

Responsible for the daily operations of the Plant. Oversee related processes within the maintenance, cheese making, packaging, prep and administrative areas.

 

Essential Duties/ Responsibilities:

·         Manage the daily operations of the Plant with a focus on employee and food safety

·         Ensure daily production planning is in accordance with supply chain needs.

·         Communicate and resolve all quality and production issues with appropriate team members.

·         Support quality standards, inventory accuracy and production planning schedules

·         Ensure effective resource allocation and use of equipment

·         Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve plant and company objectives

·         Collaborate and oversee other levels of the organization.

·         Promote and particpate in the plant‘s Operational Excellence throughout the facility

·         Monitor variations in production process and report to Quality and Director of Operations.

·         Coach, motivate and engage employees in all aspects of operations to support the Emmi culture.

·         Responsible for  employee development, performance management and staffing

·         Comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures.

·         Conduct weekly staff meetings to communicate changes, updates or notifications to employees.

·         Review / monitor monthly operations budget and discuss budget overruns

·         Adhere to food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA).

May:

·         Assist in preparation of annual operation budgets and capital expenditures for plant operations in order to achieve budgets.

Qualifications/ Minimum Requirements:

·         2 Year College Degree in business related field or equivalent experience; 4 year college degree preferred

·         Proven leadership, analytical and problem-solving skills

·         Ability to read and interpret documents, manuals and instructions

·         Strong interpersonal and organizational skills

·         Detail-oriented nature and ability to adapt to change

·         Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers

·         Ability to calculate using fractions, decimals, and percentages

·         Proficient with ERP systems and MicroSoft Office

·         Excellent written and verbal communication skills

·         Ability to work in a fast paced environment

·         Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure

·         Ability to work in cross-functional teams.

 

Physical Demands:

These physical demands are representative of the physical requirements necessary for an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. Reasonable accommodation can be made to enable people with disabilities to perform the described essential functions of the job.

 

The Manager may have to spend up to 8 hours standing, bending, twisting, turning, using arms and hands for reaching, throwing, handling, and manipulating objects, lift items weighing up to 25 pounds, need to climb up and down ladders, scaffolds and other climbing devices, be able to see naturally or with correction, to safely perform designated tasks.

 

The Manager may have to spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The Manager may also have to do some light lifting of supplies and materials from time to time.

Work Environment:

The plant floor is a busy facility. The Manager will have exposure to a moderate level of constant noise that may make it difficult to concentrate. The plant conditions are wet and humid with occasionally slippery floors. The Manager may occasionally work with food grade chemicals within the plant environment.

 

The office may be a busy facility. The Manager may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of members, residents, clients and contractors. The Manager will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks.
