Location:

Providence, Rhode Island area.  Relocation package provided.

Summary:

As the Confectionery Technologist you will play a key role in the new product development, process development and technical service functions for our world leading portfolio of confectionery and food coatings. You will drive the development of new company products, build sales and contribute in a meaningful way to profitability. You will travel to customers with our sales team, and attend key trade shows. Responsibilities
& Duties:

·       Maintain a complete understanding of company confectionery and food          coatings and their technical attributes. 

·       Manage research and development programs, using “hands-on” technical expertise to create new confectionery and food coatings, line extensions and improved production processes.

·       Coordinate ingredient sourcing, testing of new ingredients, functional evaluations and approval process with Purchasing and Quality Departments.

·       Assist in creating sales formulas and client literature.

·      Stay abreast of culinary and consumer trends and advancements in ingredient and confectionery processes.

·       Build reputation for customer-focused creativity by delivering new ideas and coating solutions.

 

Requirements:

·       Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in a technical field (i.e., Food Science, Chemistry, Engineering)

·       3 to 5 years of relevant experience in the confectionery industry.

·       A Master’s Degree in Food Science or other relevant field is a plus.

·       Candidates should possess In-depth confectionery panning, ingredient and formulating knowledge. 

·       In-plant confectionery, laboratory, and process experience is preferred.

·       Demonstrated ability to drive R&D projects.

·       Strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentation), problem solving, critical thinking, organization, planning, and management skills.

·         Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
