Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the timely maintenance of all plant equipment, buildings, and grounds.

Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:

         Ensure timely maintenance of all plant equipment, buildings and grounds utilizing work order system to control labor and costs.

         Coordinates activities of employees engaged in repair, maintenance and installation of machines, tools and equipment.

         Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance to operating standards.

         Requisitions tools, equipment, supplies required for repairs need to complete work orders.

         Directs training to improve work performance and procedures.

         Develop and implement short/long term repair projects to minimize downtime and maximize production.

         Mechanical - repair, rebuild, fabricate, install and reconstruct all equipment which includes but not limited to welding, brazing, lubricating, cleaning, inspecting and evaluating plumbing, lathe work and reading blueprints.

         Electrical - electrical motor hook-up, wiring, electrical repairs, knowledge of electrical panels, computer boards and PLC devices.

         Utilities - daily boiler tests and maintenance. Refrigeration knowledge for start up and power outages.

         Provide building renovations by construction and carpentry.

         Maintain preventative maintenance documentation on all equipment.

         Manage capital projects.

         Interface with plant management staff on daily operational issues.

         Other duties as assigned.

 

Qualifications/
Requirements:

         Minimum two year technical degree.

         Minimum two years supervisory experience.

         Must possess solid analytical skills, mechanical and electrical aptitude.

         Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.

         Computer literacy applied to control and data management.

         Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation.

         Must be able to verbally communicate, understand, and write in the English language.

 

Physical
Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

         Is required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.

         Is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms.

         Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, and push/pull exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently.

         Requires visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech.

 

There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level. There is exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electric current, and exposure to heat/cold temperature changes.
