This Company is a world leading vanilla extract and baking essentials company. They are looking for a creative, hard working, and self-motivated Vanilla Flavor Chemist to head the vanilla and flavor development department.


Duties &

       Management of  analytical laboratory

       Development of vanilla extracts, flavors, concentrates and powders

       Development of non vanilla flavors

       Recommend continuous improvements to vanilla extraction and other manufacturing processes

       Commercialize new vanilla and non vanilla products with Operations team

       Learn and work on team to improve vanilla quality from cultivation through curing and extraction

       Oversee TTB formulas and alcohol drawbacks

      Work productively as a key part of a multi discipline team including Sales, Purchasing, Production, Quality and Finance


Required Minimum

      Required: BS or BA in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Food Science or related field

      Required: Five years experience in flavor chemistry

      Preferred: Certified Flavor Chemist


Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

       Hands on understanding of vanilla extract process from beans to extraction

       Familiarity with all types of vanilla flavors, extracts, concentrates, and powders

       Analytical chemistry skills including HPLC and GC-MS

       Creative thinker

       Self motivated problem solver

         Understanding of the engineering and physical principles of extraction, concentration and spray drying

       Ability to start a flavor development program

       Sensory analysis expertise
