JO 15639 Plant Manager



Salary Range:

$100K - $110K


Board of Directors


The Plant Manager will be responsible for directing and managing the plant operations with overall responsibility for production, finance, distribution, warehouse, maintenance, customer service and quality.


Essential Duties

·         Manage the plant to achieve expected performance results.

·         Manage the assets (property, equipment, etc.) so operations of the plant are efficient and cost effective.

·         Ensure that all areas of the operation are compliant with State and Federal laws.

·         Plan and recommend budget and capital expenditures, manage expenditures, and report on budget variances.

·         Direct implementation and execution of manufacturing policies and practices throughout the organization.

·         Build develop and manage plant leadership team capable of carrying out needed business strategies and improving employee relations.

·         Provide input and support to the Board of Directors as needed.

·         Implement cost effective systems of control over capital, operating expenditures, manpower, wages and salaries.

·         Maintain existing plant facilities and equipment; replace, or make adjustments to plant facilities and equipment when necessary.

·         Ensures compliance with company standards for cost control, waste reduction, quality, safety and complete and on-time delivery.

·         Performs other related duties as assigned.



·         Bachelor’s degree in Dairy or Business preferred.

·         Ten years plant/general management experience in a dairy manufacturing environment preferred.

·         Five years’ experience preparing and managing budgets and financial statements preferred.

·         Background with manufacturing methods, process improvement programs and procedures preferred.

·         Requires detail oriented, logical, and methodological approach to problem solving at both strategic and functional level.

·         Demonstrated ability to lead people and achieve results.

·         Ability to organize and manage multiple priorities.

·         Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral and written).

·         Proficient with Microsoft Office applications.

·         Excellent ability to verbally communicate, comprehend, and write in the English language.

·         Must be willing to work flexible hours as required.



While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk and hear.  The employee is occasionally required to walk; use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; and reach with hands and arms.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision.
