JO 15671 Director of Retail Marketing



Salary Range:

$80K - $120K


The Marketing Director role is instrumental in advancing the Company’s brand-development and retail expansion strategies and all related activities which increase consumer awareness and preference for the Company brand and support Increased retail distribution Overall, the Marketing Director is a brand steward; ensuring consistent and appropriate use of the company’s brand identity, assets and developing/executing  key messaging strategies.


The Marketing Director will possess an overall knowledge of and experience with multi-faced Integrated communication and promotional campaigns, including digital marketing, social and traditional media, special events, public relations and sponsorships. The role will be responsible for wearing multiple hats and must balance the expertise of crafting engaging storytelling materials and integrating data-driven insights through strong analytical business acumen. The individual must thrive on ensuring the brand positioning is flawlessly executed through compelling brand campaigns and are centered on the consumer needs and wants in order to meet KPIs. The Marketing Director will ensure that all touch-points and communication ties to our overall Brand Vision and builds our brand equity.


The Marketing Director must possess the leadership ability to manage an internal staff and outside agencies as well as foster strong team collaborations with internal cross-functional  partners (Sales, Product Business Managers, category Management) and with outside agency management (digital, social, SEM and creative). This Includes project management and leadership to ensure programs are on strategy, on time, and on budget. In addition, the Marketing Director is a key member responsible for fostering brand relationships In order to create synergies within other business units.



·         Define key areas of brand communication strategies and relevant tactics in designated areas of brand management, in order to achieve annual Marketing Plan goals as well as build long term brand value.

·         Supports the development of the broader Company’s brand building strategy.

·         Effective in business analysis and evaluation of market insights (market, consumer, retail customer, competitor) to identify brand and retail growth opportunities.

·         Define actionable findings and recommendations.

·         Support the communication of key learning across the broader Company organization.

·         Must maintain and increase growth of the Company’s social media platforms employing both paid and organic growth strategies. Must possess a strategic brand perspective of long-term platform growth across markets on digital touch points and specifically social media.

·         Oversee and manage the creation and execution of digital and social media initiatives, including the writing and posting diverse content and developing opportunities for engagement, across priority platforms and consistently grow audience and engagement.

·         Serve as lead day-to-day contact for agencies defining tactical plans, ensuring excellence in execution and accountability for KPIs.

·         Must be a digital champion connecting the dots across content strategy with website, e-mail marketing campaigns and traditional and social media.

·         Provide project management leadership to ensure successful execution of brand programs and campaigns.

·         Manage project plan and timely status updates to key stakeholders.

·         As required, manage cross function team activities to deliver project goals.

·         Ensure all marketing led programs are executed on time and within approved   budgets.

·         Collaborate with cross function team members (I.e. Category Management, Sales, Packaging and Product Business Management) to maximize the impact of the Company’s in-market performance.

·         Guide activities of direct report activities in order to achieve marketing priorities.

·         Further develop their marketing skills and effectiveness.

·         Act as lead contact with agency partners and vendors to advance strategy development and program execution.

·         Responsible for developing and managing designated components of the annual marketing budget against target goals. Provide timely reporting to the CEO and President.

·         Collaborate with other Marketing team members and agency partners to ensure consistency of the brand experience and messaging across all consumer focused communication (Digital, PR, consumer events, loyalty marketing and collateral pieces).

·         Other duties as assigned.



·         5+ years of progressive brand management experience in consumer marketing organization.

·         Bachelor degree in Marketing or Business Administration required; M. B. A. preferred.

·         Effective in managing complex program executions through superior organization, communication skills and attention to detail. Prior work with a Challenger Brand, All Natural/Organic, or other pioneering type experience desirable.

·         Skilled In advancing multiple brand marketing initiatives against approved timelines and budget   parameters.

·         Strong marketing acumen and ability to align digital communication and Social Media strategies with business objectives. Demonstrated ability to develop synergistic vendor relations.

·         Must have digital marketing and data analytics experience.

·         Previous experience with food brands or within the food industry is a plus.

·         Willingness to track accountability through tracking data and being aware of all tools to hold the standard for office protocols and procedures. Superior oral and written communication skills.

·         Advanced level of computer skills including use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint).

·         Valid Driver’s license.

·         May travel for business up to 15% of work time.
