JO 15674 Safety Manager



Salary Range:

$45K - $50K

Immediate Supervisor:

V.P. of Human Resources


Provide technical safety and health support to production and corporate personnel.  Develop corporate safety and health programs and objectives and coordinate safety training programs.  Monitor safety and health regulations and provide technical support to plant and corporate personnel to ensure compliance with Federal and State safety and health regulations.

Essential Duties &

·         Provide technical safety and health support and information to production and corporate personnel.

·         Prepare written safety and health programs and policies.

·         Identify company safety training needs and develop and coordinate safety training programs.

·         Develop annual company safety and health goals.

·         Support corporate/plant to implement controls to minimize safety and occupational health hazards.

·         Support plant personnel in the selection of appropriate personal protective equipment.

·         Maintain corporate safety library (e.g. videos, regulations, reference manuals.

·         Promote safety and health awareness through internal company memos, newsletters and specific training programs

·         Assist as necessary in the implementation of Hazard Communication Program.

·         Understand Federal and State occupational safety and health regulations and monitor regulatory changes as they occur

·         Provide technical support to corporate and plant personnel to ensure compliance with applicable occupational safety and health regulations.

·         Periodically audit practices and records of manufacturing plants to ensure compliance with company programs and Federal/State occupational safety and health regulations.

·         Monitor lost-time injuries/illnesses and Worker’s Compensation Claims.

·         Review plant safety committee meeting minutes and safety inspection reports.

·         Review injury/illness and non-injury investigation reports and follow-up as necessary.

·         Performs other tasks as assigned by supervisor.



·         Prefer Bachelors Degree in a safety science/engineering/industrial hygiene discipline.

·         Strong knowledge of Federal and State OSHA regulations.

·         Must have intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.

·         Must have excellent time management skills.

·         Must have excellent communication skills both verbal and written.

·         Must be will to work flexible hours as required.

·         Must be able to verbally communicate, understand and write in the English language.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.  The employee may be required to operate a computer and keyboard; have visual acuity to review written documentations; ability to hear and understand speech; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bend and stoop.
