Position
Summary:

Under the direction of the Production Manager, the Process Supervisor oversees a team of 2 Batching Operators performing batching and processing functions.

Responsibilities include supervising daily batching & logistical operations and personnel, developing and analyzing reports, making operational changes, acting as the interface between R&D and Production, and ensuring production targets and metrics are met for the function(s).

Typical working hours : 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM or even 6:00 AM - 3:00 PM

 

Qualifications:

  • College degree or equivalent, 3-5 years of experience in a supervisory capacity in a food-related manufacturing environment or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong experience with food processing and equipment.
  • Ability to communicate both orally and written with all levels of employees.
  • Strong management/supervisory skills.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft office.
  • Strong organization and time management skills.

 

Duties &
Responsibilities:

  • Prioritize, schedule, and delegate work assignments, and directly supervise the batching and processing areas, to ensure products are produced within the Company’s quality specifications and in alignment with the production schedule.
  • Monitor daily production schedule, take corrective action as needed, to ensure schedule is completed as planned.
  • Continually evaluate processes and methods; recommend ways to improve production methods, equipment, performance, utilization of people, quality of product and all logistical facets.
  • Act as the interface between the R&D and production areas to ensure the products meet all required standards.
  • Ensures compliance with department policies and procedures and applicable laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Ensures production schedules, quality initiatives, safety targets, efficiency metrics, and other operational measurements are met for the function(s).
  • May monitor production instruments, equipment, and schedules to ensure product is processed according to specifications
  • Assists with reviewing and coordinating general plant operations with shipping, scheduling, inventory management, and sales activities by reviewing reports and operations and other information as required or directed
  • Supervises staff to include hiring, training, evaluating performance, providing compensation recommendations, and determining disciplinary actions when necessary.
  •  Works with other plant supervisors or management to review production quality, safety, and other operations, implement department activities, and solve operational problems.
  • Act as a technical resource to address and resolve inquiries and problems; analyze and resolve work problems, and assist workers in solving work problems.
  • Work with Production Manager to establish department goals and action plans to achieve goals.
  • Lead the Department’s commitment to safety.
  • Conduct accident investigations and identify areas where potential near-miss situations exist.
  • Review and identify cross training needs, to improve workforce flexibility and develop and carry out plans to increase cross training of department employees.
  • Ensure that Production-related documentation is completed; properly, accurately, and timely.
  • Assist Production Manager in developing and achieving Production Department budget.
  • Responsible for maintaining food safety, employee safety, quality standards and Customer specifications.
  • Report any food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Production Manager or management.
