Summary:

Uploads and maintains customer-required programs/portals.  Will support the on-site Quality team members with daily tasks as necessary.

Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:

         Organize data and upload product-related information to numerous customer programs and portals.

         Work closely with the Customer Support team to maintain appropriate information flow.

         Daily environmental sampling and testing of finished goods and products.

         Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials.

         Approves in-process production by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to necessary personnel.

         Approves finished products by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests.

         Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing rework and waste; inputting data into quality database.

         Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions.

         Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures; complying with legal regulations.

         Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications.

         Participate in internal, 3rd party, and customer audits, as needed.

         Assist with hold and non-conformance investigations, as needed.

         Communicate with Quality Manager, Production Manager, and Plant manager on lab results and quality improvements.

         Order supplies.

         Attend staff and department meetings.

         Actively participate on Teams that improve workplace safety, reduce waste and improve factory efficiencies.

         May be required to work overtime if deemed necessary with occasional weekend work.

         Maintain, organize, and clean lab and equipment.

         Performs all other duties as assigned.

         Report any and all injuries to your supervisor or manager at the time of injury.

         Complete all required training in a timely manner.

         Adhere to food safety policies and all government food safety and sanitation regulations (ex. FDA, HACCP, GMP, OSHA, FSSC 22000).

    

Qualifications/
Minimum
Requirements:

Education / Certification / Licenses / Training / Supervisory Responsibilities

 

         High School Diploma or GED with two years of quality experience.

         Preferred - Associates Degree with two years of quality experience.

         Strong IT/computer skills.

         HACCP certification within first year.

         Microbiology and food safety training, preferred.

         Knowledge of cheesemaking, Pasteurization Milk Ordinance (PMO), and food safety, preferred.

         Valid Driverís license and insurance.

         A personal vehicle is required, depending on location.

         Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, decimals, and percentages.

         Ability to perform algebraic calculations.

         Intermediate computer skills including e-mail, word processing, and spreadsheets.

         Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

         Ability to work with automated equipment.

         Ability to multi-task and prioritize under pressure.

         History of good attendance.

         Excellent organization and problem-solving skills.

         Detail-oriented nature.

         Ability to work with moderate supervision.

         Travel required on an almost daily basis within town or to other locations.

 

Physical Demands:

The plant floor is a busy facility. The Quality Technician I will have exposure to a moderate level of constant noise that may make it difficult to concentrate. The plant conditions are wet and humid with occasionally slippery floors.  The Quality Technician Iwill need to be able to work with food grade chemicals required for proper daily sanitation of all equipment.

 

The distribution center may be a busy facility. The Quality Technician I may have to manage a number of projects at one time, and may be interrupted frequently to meet the needs and requests of members. The Quality Technician I will need excellent organizational and time and stress management skills to complete the required tasks. The distribution center may be noisy and busy making it difficult for the Quality Technician Ito concentrate.
