JO 15724 Interim Plant Manager



Salary Range:

Experience based


Oversees daily production operations, coach and develop hourly employees, identify and implement process optimization projects.† Provide the leadership that ensures all employees on shift can improve and sustain a zero loss work culture that drives out injuries and ensures products are safe and meet quality specifications.† Manage all aspects of shift whey operation ensuring budget, output, and continuous improvement by engaging all employees.



         Must be capable of working regular work schedule to include some weekends and holidays.

         Supervise and coordinate activities of workers engaged in dairy liquid processing and handling at the highest level of quality.† The emphasis of this position is in the evaporation and drying of whey and lactose products.

o   Train employees in work methods and procedures

o   Perform performance reviews

o   Maintain employee moral

         Plan and develop systems and procedures to improve quality and efficiency of the department.

         Analyze lab data and react accordingly to data trending.

         Complete or assist in the duties of all jobs related to production when circumstances demand.

         Manage reporting of yields, solids recovery and maximize opportunities.

         Understand and enforce ALL Good Manufacturing Practices and company policies with employees.

         Address any human resource needs, relating to those being supervised.

         Work with plant, client personnel to resolve day-to-day productions tasks/needs as they arise.

         Other responsibilities as assigned by Management.

         4 year college degree in operations or related field is preferred.



         Past experience working with, training, and directing employees in a multiple staff setting.† The department Manager will be responsible for giving directing to other department supervisors.

         Past experience balancing labor and production schedules.† Making schedule adjustments based on customer orders and available inventory.

         Good mechanical aptitude along with past experience trouble-shooting equipment problems in a production setting.

         Experience with food safety programs including:† GMPís (Good Manufacturing Practices), SQF (or similar GFSI Program), SOPís, and HAACP.

         Experience with spray drying and evaporator equipment, whey or dairy specific is a plus.† Must be willing to learn operations of Evaporator, Spray Dryer, Lactose System, Grinder, and Warehouse Shipping.

         5-10 yearsí experience in a food production facility.

         Must be willing and able to work a rotation of Saturdays and some Holidays as a regular part of your work week.
