The 2nd Shift Supervisor oversees all duties related to the Manufacturing and Sanitation Processes of the plant. The following positions are included in the 2nd Shift Supervisorís oversight, but are not limited to, General labor (production and sanitation workers and operators.


Essential Duties &

         Have a thorough understanding of the work flow and the staffing of each department.

         Thoroughly understand the schedule and ensure the processes best contribute to the schedule requirements.

         Be able to operate and clean all the equipment in each production room and anything associated with packaging, including forklift certified.

         Maintain all records applicable to the above equipment, and including all Quality Control checks from incoming ingredients to finished product.

         Maintain all records applicable to the Master Schedule, and including all Quality Control checks associated with cleaning.

         Be responsible for all associated paperwork as it relates to current needs for cost control, quality, and safety and BRC and/or customer requirements.

         Be able to ensure that all products are tested analytically to meet customer requirements including taste, smell and texture if needed.

         Be able to ensure that all cleaned equipment is tested and/or inspected before startup.†

         Be able to test all products when needed and assist the Lab with testing when required.

         Follow pre-op inspection and utensil tracking procedures. Report any non-compliance, defective, or sub-standard product immediately to the Management team. In addition, inspect all equipment to assure proper operation and safety. If defective, submit work orders for repair.

         Be able to communicate, direct and train staff as needed.

         Be schedule flexible and work over time when required.

         Follow SOPs - perform all functions of the manufacturing process.

         Follow SSOPs - perform all functions of the sanitation process.

         Monitor the individual raw materials both for quality and quantity.

         Monitor the chemical quality and quantity for sanitation.

         Own the communication and follow-up with the sanitation chemical provider.

         Provide metric reports to the Management staff per daily, weekly and monthly requirements.†

         Communicate fluently by email.

         Ensure all record keeping related to the sanitation chemical provider is in accordance with Companyís expectations.

         Ensure the team members follow all safety procedures and participate in the Safety Team.

         Follow operational procedures and complete required paperwork on a daily basis.

         Follow GMPís (Good Manufacturing Practices), quality control, cleaning
and sanitation procedures.

         Follow all safety procedures and participate in the Safety Team.

         Assist with clean-up and sanitation responsibilities when needed.

         Assist in any other areas of the manufacturing plant when necessary.

         Attend all scheduled meetings including staff, safety, and quality.


         Degree preferred, but not required.† Minimum high school diploma or equivalent skills by experience.

         Must be fork truck certified.

         Must be able to read, interpret and understand written and oral directions.

         Knowledge of proper use of equipment, materials and supplies.

         Must demonstrate basic math skills to calculate and understand weights
and measures.

         Must be able to verbally communicate, understand, and write in the English language.

         Must be able to work flexible hours and weekends.


While performing the duties of this job, the employee:

         Is required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.†

         Is required to use hands and fingers to operate, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls and reach with hands and arms on a repetitive basis.†

         Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, push/pull exerting up to 70 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds frequently and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.†

         Requires visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech.†

There is sufficient noise to cause the worker to shout in order to be heard above the ambient noise level.†† There is exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, electrical current, and exposure to heat/cold temperature changes.
