JO 15727 Research and Development Specialist - Seasonings/Sauces
Seasonings, Sauces, Marinades, Meat Solutions, and organic products

Location:

Summary:

This position will primarily be focused on new products development and improvement of existing products. Provide technical services (development) and support to manufacturing, Sales and Marketing and Purchasing. Adheres to all company policies, procedures and business ethics codes.

PRODUCT Line:  Cooking essentials, ready-made blends, Chili's, marinades and sauces, nuts, seeds and toppings, baking needs, edibles, teas, specialty items.

 

Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:

Include but are not limited to the following:

         Develop new blend flavors and seasoning.

 

         Manage and maintain portfolio of existing flavors.

 

         Research and development for new products.

 

         Develop and undertake customization of flavors.

 

         Develop recipe for pre-mix products.

 

         Perform technical assignment to support departmental projects initiatives including material, packaging and ingredient qualification.

 

         Quality Control of all manufactured products.

 

         Work in development of formulations.

 

         Laboratory organization and inventory maintenance.

 

         Department process and procedural documentation.

 

         Laboratory sample submission and data summarization.

 

         Complete assignment in a timely manner with skill accuracy and appropriate technical understanding.

 

         Prioritize work assignments in alignment with business needs.

       Answers products inquiries as required.

       Other duties may be assigned.

Education/
Experience:

Bachelor or Master's degrees in food Technology/Chemistry and hands on experience with various seasonings, Meat Solutions, Marinades and organic products.

 

Language
Ability:

         Must be able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.

 

         Should have ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

 

        Should be able to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

 

        English required.  Spanish is a plus.

 

 

Reasoning
Ability:

        Must have ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

        Must be able to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

Computer Skills

        To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software; Spreadsheet software; Inventory software and Order Processing systems.
