Cheese Production Manager

Summary:

Directs and coordinates activities of one of the cheese production lines by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors.

 

Essential Duties &
Responsibilities:

Other duties may be assigned.

 

·         Comply with all state and federal food laws, Company procedures and policies, and good manufacturing policies.

·         Maintain a safe work environment.

·         Communicate any concerns to other departments.

·         Responsible for Manual Cheese Line operations and performance.

·         Manual Cheese Line first and second shift Supervisors and employees will report to the Assistant Manager.

·         Assistant Manager will primarily work first shift, but will be expected to periodically work second shift to monitor team.

·         Bilingual.

·         Ready to Eat Food Production Experience - preferably cheese or dairy.

·         Work with R&D to implement new products into full production.

·         Attend conferences and seminars when they relate to the Company’s production improvements.

·         Reviews production orders to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.

·         Plans production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.

·         Prepares operational schedules and coordinates manufacturing activities to ensure production and quality of products meets specifications.

·         Reviews production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

·         Inspects machines and equipment to ensure specific operational performance and optimum utilization.

·         Develops or revises standard operational and working practices and observes workers to ensure compliance with standards.

·         Compiles, stores, and retrieves production data.

 

Primary Duties:

·         Scheduling Production.

·         Ensure GMPs and Global Food Safety Initiatives are followed.

·         Compliance of specifications.

·         Employee training and evaluation.

·         Maintaining daily production logs

Education
and/or
Experience:

Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

 

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

Reasoning Ability:

Ability  to  define  problems,  collect data, establish  facts,  and  draw valid  conclusions.  Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
