Summary:

The Senior Procurement Manager will plan, organize, direct and coordinate activities of purchasing and distributing raw materials, equipment, machinery, and supplies by performing the following duties:

Essential Functions include the following:

         Plans, organizes, directs, and controls activities related to the procurement function.

         Develop strategic plans to improve productivity, quality and efficiency of suppliers

         Analyze market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability and prepare market analysis reports as needed

         Lead the creation of cost savings and innovative programs through effective management of strategic suppliers and internal stakeholders

         Develops and implements policy and processes regarding purchasing systems and procedures.

         Analyzes market and delivery conditions to determine present and future material availability, and prepares market analysis reports.

         Develops a system to evaluate vendor quotations that utilizes appropriate negotiation and purchasing techniques to ensure quality, price, delivery, and service.

         Identifies and develops vendor relationships with suppliers that consistently meet compliance with Food Safety Program requirements while providing high quality products and services at cost efficient price while maintaining the highest code of ethics and conduct.

         Prepares and issues purchase orders and change notices as required.

         Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.

         Prepares and reviews contracts, bids, proposals, and vendor agreements for legal correctness, price, and acceptability of items to specifications.

         Oversees all activities related to procurement of a commodity, from intent to purchase through delivery of commodity.

         Negotiates or supervises the negotiation of complex requests for ingredients, equipment, supplies, and services from suppliers and subcontractors to consistently deliver price/service value analysis, lead time analysis and reduction in transactional activities.

         Works with Marketing on design and purchase of new product packaging.

         Arranges for disposal of surplus materials.

         Establishes and maintains effective work relationships within the department, the Corporation and the community; and maintains the professional competence, knowledge and skill necessary for the satisfactory performance of all assigned responsibilities.†

         Performs individual assignments as management may direct.

 

Qualifications:

         Bachelorís Degree in business administration or related subject. 

         10+ years of leadership and team development experience in a purchasing role with progressive responsibilities, preferably in Food or Consumer Products.

         Demonstrated understanding of supply chain and manufacturing processes & IT systems supporting manufacturing operations within this positionís scope.

         Experience with Microsoft AX ERP system ideal.

         Commitment to Lean Principles.

         Project Management experience.

         Cost Accounting & budgeting experience.

         Ability to effectively communicate 1:1 and in groups.

         Conflict Management skills.

         Ability to motivate associates.

         May be required to travel 10-15% of work time.
