Summary:

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for the efficient performance of all production equipment and associated utilities.

Essential Duties
&
Responsibilities:

         Hire, train, and manage maintenance staff to maintain the plant functions.

         Develop plans to improve plant performance with the cooperation of the plant management team.

         Counsel and discipline employees as appropriate.

         Participate as a member of the plant safety committee.

         Establish and maintain departmental budget within established guidelines.

         Establish and maintain capital budget within established guidelines.

         Evaluate and prepare expense authorizations for projects and present to Plant Manager for submittal.

         Establish and implement preventative maintenance system.

         Identify appropriate vender network.

         Perform accident investigations.

         Communicate and respond to issues raised by Quality Assurance Manager.

         Communicate and respond to issues raised by production staff.

         Coordinate equipment availability request with Plant Manager for maintenance functions.

         Assist with the resolution of union grievances within the maintenance department at union facilities.

         Interface with plant management staff on daily operational issues.

         Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/
Requirements:

         Bachelorís Degree and five years of experience in a maintenance management or equivalent combination of education and experience such as a broad manufacturing background of 3 to 5 years experience.

         Must possess solid analytical skills and mechanical aptitude.

         Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of changing situations under stress.

         Computer literacy applied to control and data management.

         Strong interpersonal skills requiring the ability to resolve conflicting interests and obtain cooperation. Must be able to communicate verbally, understand, and write in the English language.

Physical
Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be required to sit, stand or walk for prolonged periods of time.  This position will require employee to occasionally work in climate controlled areas example (cooler and warehouse).  The employee will be required to operate a computer and keyboard; have visual acuity to review written documentation; ability to hear and understand speech; manual dexterity to operate a telephone; lift horizontally and vertically, bend and stoop.
