Salary Range:

$25.50 - $27/hr plus time-and-a-half for overtime hours. 


Cheese Operations Manager



Provide leadership and guidance in the areas of sanitation and act as a liaison to the Quality Assurance Department as needed. Primarily responsible to support all phases of sanitation, sanitary design, and pathogenic-environmental risk control. Ultimately responsible to understand, communicate, and lead sanitation programs and ensure all sanitation activities are being performed in an effective manner.


Essential Duties &

  1. Supervise sanitation employees through all processes of cleaning to maintain a high level of sanitation.
  2. Comply with the Current Good Manufacturing Practices Guidelines (CGMP) and ensure the adherence to CGMP in regard to sanitation procedures.
  3. Monitor, audit, and make necessary adjustments to cleaning systems and procedures to ensure optimal cleanliness.
  4. Work closely with management, production, and QA on sanitation problems. Recommend changes to improve sanitation policies, procedures, and cleaning effectiveness. Perform necessary corrective actions.
  5. Conduct training programs for all sanitation procedures. Responsible for the development and training of sanitation personnel.
  6. Schedule sanitation validation audits including dismantling and inspecting critical production and packaging equipment to ensure proper ability and sanitation.
  7. Comply with proper safety procedures and ensure they are used by sanitation employees.
  8. Develop, maintain, and revise departmental procedures including the master sanitation schedule and SSOPs.
  9. Review and maintain sanitation documentation for Quality Assurance and regulatory review.
  10. Build partnerships and work closely with chemical representatives.
  11. Instruct and coach employees to properly use protective equipment.
  12. Perform sanitation duties when needed.
  13. Responsible for Food Safety.
  14. Build partnerships with production, quality, and human resources to ensure production and staff goals are met.


Sanitation staff (15 20 employees)

1.       Minimum of five years of experience in Food Manufacturing Sanitation is required. Experience in Dairy Manufacturing Sanitation is preferred.

2.       Minimum of five years of experience as a supervisor is required.



  1. Knowledge of sanitation best practices.
  2. Knowledge of CIP (Clean in place) Systems.



  1. Ability to read work instructions and chemical labels.
  2. Ability to communicate with co-workers.



Ability to utilize basic mathematical operations for such tasks as measuring chemicals.

Computer Skills:

Microsoft Office experience.



  1. Ability to recognize food safety concerns throughout cleaning/sanitation process.
  2. Ability to lead, train, coach, and manage employees

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:

None Required.




Physical Demands:

  1. Ability to lift up to 70 pounds occasionally.
  2. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds frequently.
  3. Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, reach, stand, walk, and push constantly.


Other Qualifications:

Ability to communicate in English in all forms (reading, writing and speaking).


  1. Regular exposure to wet and/or humid conditions and moving mechanical parts.
  2. Regular exposure to a high noise level.
  3. Regular exposure to chemicals.
