Summary:

The Maintenance Manager’s role centers on having accountability for the health and performance of the entire Maintenance Department operation. The current Maintenance work schedule is 6 days on and 2 days off supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations. The role is responsible for building the maintenance team’s ownership, capability and execution excellence of Standard Maintenance Practices, Computer Maintenance Management System (EAM0 and Process Control. The role is tactically focused on empowering the Maintenance team’s accountability to company goals, business performance expectations, continuous improvement and operational excellence. The Maintenance Manager reports directly to the VP of Operations (FTH) and will have 5+ direct reports.

General
Description:

•          Managing the site-wide maintenance function, including packaging, process, mechanical, electric, building maintenance and stationary engineering.

•          Ensuring regulatory compliance re: health & safety, and environmental standards

•          Working with outside engineering & technical services as needed.

•          Build the Maintenance team’s technical & functional capabilities.

•          Assume total responsibility for the Maintenance Department budget ensuring proper expenditures and accountability.

•          Strategic development of the maintenance department to a best-in-class level.

•          Focus on the development of the Maintenance team to continually improve maintenance strategies and equipment efficiencies.

•          Support teamwork between Maintenance and other Company departments.

•          Actively participates in the daily production meeting as a key component of the operating team (as needed).

•          Procurement Parts Process (vendor selection, ordering, receiving).

•          Discipline – Non safety – Final Approvals

•          Creating Performance Appraisals for direct reports

•          Delivering Performance Appraisals for direct reports as needed.

•          Approve Hiring Decisions.

•          Contract signing.

•          Shutdown scheduling.

•          Other duties may be assigned by Leadership.

Requirements:

•          Experienced in a Management capacity within a manufacturing/process environment with knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices as well as the concepts of Best in Class Maintenance and Process Control.

•          Strong emphasis on developing others’ capabilities. Enjoys working with others and sees team work as more productive environment. Can recognize others’ achievements and improvements as well as dealing with conflict effectively.

•          The ability to communicate effectively at all levels through excellent active listening skills, communication and facilitation skills.

•          High degree of computer & systems knowledge.

•          Familiarity with 5S and Lean Practices.

•          A builder and strong leader committed to improving operation efficiencies through effective PM / PDM track record in managing people.

•          Experience managing a budget, planning and strong communication skills.

Education &
Experience
Requirements:

•          High School diploma or GED.

•          Post-Secondary Education a plus.

•          Maintenance Management training & experience managing a large Maintenance department.

•          Trades or Engineering background in food manufacturing environment preferred.
