Location:

Home office based within the Chicago, IL territory

 

Salary Range:

$ Competitive Base salary + 25-30% bonus* 1st yr (*uncapped bonus potential) plus Company Car, 401K match, Profit Share, additional year-end bonus of 5-6%.

 $135K-$160K total 1st year potential depending on your sales experience.

Report to:

Director, Industrial Ingredients

Job Summary:

Serves CUSTOMERS by selling functional Flavor Technologies, Seasonings & Ingredients products; meeting customer needs within a $3.5 to $5MM Territory with 40+ current accounts.

Serves COMPANY by increasing profitability and market presence consistent with divisional and company strategies.

 

This position is technical value-added sales of custom seasonings, flavors & flavor technologies for the Company’s industrial ingredient division.

Products are sold to food & beverage manufacturers: dairy, savory, confection, bakery, snack, beverage, meat/protein etc.

This person would be calling on R&D, Marketing & Purchasing.

Most of the customers for this position are based in the Chicago metro area

 

Essential
Functions:

1.       Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential customers with specified region across a variety of food and related markets.

2.       Manages administrative tasks including price quote requests, commercialization process, and customer follow up.

3.       Works closely with customer service, R&D, operations, and sales management.

4.       Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as

call reports, weekly work plans, monthly and annual territory analyses.

5.       Monitors competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, products, new products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.

6.       Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.

7.       Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.

8.       Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; participating in professional societies.

9.       Provides historical records by maintaining records on area and customer sales with company CRM.

10.   Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

11.    Travel required.

Qualifications:

BA/BS degree in related major and at least 5 years sales experience required. 

Must also have demonstrated success in:  customer service, meeting sales goals, closing skills, territory management, prospecting skills, negotiation, self-confidence, product knowledge, presentation skills, client relationships, and motivation for sales.
 

MS Office proficiency including MS Word, MS Excel, and MS PowerPoint required.  Technical selling, CRM/MS SharePoint, specialty sales experience preferred.

Quality:

Must possess, demonstrate and follow all instructions, procedures and guidelines set forth in all applicable Company policies to assure continued quality product is produced.

 

Travel:

This position requires travel mostly within the metro Chicago area. There are a few accounts that are based in IL outside of Chicago metro. Travel to Industry related Trade shows such as the IFT may also be required at times.

 

Working
Conditions:

Home office based with participation at company events including audits, plant tours, culinary work sessions, and production areas required from time to time.
